After breakfast, enjoy a leisurely morning before transferring to the historic Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus to board the luxurious Deccan Odyssey for your Indian Sojourn.

This afternoon, you complete the registration and check-in formalities before receiving a traditional Indian welcome with refreshments. You will then be escorted to your elegantly appointed cabin as the Deccan Odyssey begins its royal rail journey through India. The train departs for Vadodara at 17:15hrs

Visit the Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its hilltop citadel, ancient temples, mosques, forts and palaces that reflect a unique blend of Hindu and Islamic architecture.

After lunch on board, continue to the Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum, followed by an exclusive visit to the magnificent Laxmi Vilas Palace. Enjoy tea and royal snacks accompanied by a traditional folk performance inspired by the royal heritage of Baroda.

Explore Mehrangarh Fort, one of India's largest and best-preserved forts, with its grand palaces, intricate carvings and sweeping views across the city. Wander through the atmospheric lanes of the old city before returning to the train for lunch.

Later, experience Jodhpur's vibrant local life with a traditional tuk-tuk ride through the bustling Clock Tower Market, passing historic havelis, spice markets and colourful textile shops; you will experience a glimpse of local life. Return to the Deccan Odyssey for dinner.

After breakfast on board, arrive in Jaipur, Rajasthan's elegant Pink City and a UNESCO World Heritage City celebrated for its royal palaces, colourful bazaars and Rajput architecture. Jaipur is legendary for the triumphs of its proud Rajputs, Jaipur, the City of Victory, is surrounded by the rugged Aravali hills - crowned by formidable forts - and beautiful palaces, mansions and gardens. Royal processions and parades, in all their splendour, graced these palaces and forts once.

Visit the majestic Amer Fort, perched above the city, and explore its impressive courtyards, mirrored halls and royal apartments while learning about Jaipur's proud Rajput heritage.

Enjoy a sumptuous lunch at a city hotel sampling local flavours in a royal setting, before continuing to the magnificent City Palace, where museums, courtyards and royal collections offer a fascinating glimpse into Jaipur's royal legacy.

Travel from Tundla Railway Station to visit the breathtaking Taj Mahal on the banks of the Yamuna River, a UNESCO World Heritage monument built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, steeped in stories of love, power and legacy. Admire its exquisite white marble architecture and remarkable craftsmanship.

After lunch at a city hotel, explore the impressive Agra Fort, the former seat of the Mughal Empire, including the Diwan-i-Am and its beautiful royal pavilions. Later, visit Kalakriti to witness the intricate Pietra Dura inlay art, the same decorative technique used in the Taj Mahal.

Return to the Deccan Odyssey for dinner before continuing your journey to Sawi Madhopur.

Enjoy breakfast on board before arriving in Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan, gateway to Ranthambore National Park, one of India's most celebrated wildlife reserves. It’s renowned for its dramatic landscapes set against the rugged Aravalli and Vindhya ranges, the park blends dense forests, open grasslands, and ancient ruins, creating a uniquely atmospheric safari experience.

Begin with a visit to a local village for an insight into rural Rajasthani life before returning to the train for lunch.
Later this afternoon, embark on an exciting safari through Ranthambore's forests, lakes and ancient ruins. The park is renowned for its population of Royal Bengal Tigers, while leopards, sloth bears, striped hyenas, marsh crocodiles, sambar deer, chital, nilgai and wild boar are also found here. Ranthambore is equally rich in birdlife, with crested serpent eagles, peafowl, kingfishers, owls and numerous woodland and wetland species.
