Wings of India – Birdwatching in North East India

Northeast India is one of the world’s richest birding regions, where the floodplains of the Brahmaputra meet the forests of the Eastern Himalayas. This extraordinary journey explores three of India’s premier birding destinations—Kaziranga, Eaglenest and Dibru-Saikhowa—home to more than 900 bird species, from globally endangered wetland birds to spectacular Himalayan endemics. Search Kaziranga’s grasslands for the elusive Bengal Florican, listen for the rare Bugun Liocichla in Eaglenest and explore Dibru-Saikhowa for the critically endangered White-winged Wood Duck.

Accompanied by specialist local birding guides, you’ll experience a remarkable variety of habitats, from riverine wetlands and elephant grasslands to tropical rainforest and Himalayan cloud forest. The journey also offers encounters with iconic wildlife including Greater One-Horned Rhinoceros, Asian Elephant, Wild Water Buffalo, Hoolock Gibbon and Red Panda.
